Lovely santal scent
Such a good summery sandalwood scent. Really similar to Le labo santal 33 but not as sharp and more creamy. The only downside is it’s not strong enough. I wish this scent was more beast mode because it is nice.

Sunny Side Up opens soft, creamy, and warm rather than sharp or sparkling. You get a blend of sandalwood and coconut milk wrapped in a slightly powdery floral haze, with jasmine and a gentle vanilla sweetness floating just underneath. It doesn’t smell like sunscreen or a tropical beach—more like warm skin after sun, soft lotion, and light woods all melting together in a calm, cozy way. As it dries down, it becomes even closer to the skin: smooth sandalwood, airy musk, and a subtle iris-like powderiness that gives it a soft-focus effect. It stays understated and intimate rather than loud or projecting, leaning into that “clean, warm skin but better” vibe. Overall, it’s comforting, minimal, and easy to wear—more quiet warmth than obvious beach fragrance.

Holy grail for layering!
When I put this on, the only note/scent I could get was a kind of musty sandalwood. That wasn’t giving me the vibe I wanted, so I layered YSL’s Trench over the top of this. The vibes became immaculate! The projection is medium on that combo, and the wear quite good. I’m at 7 hours at the moment and still get a LOT of scent if I hold my arm to my nose, particularly the sandalwood that Trench brightened up for me. Unisex in that it just smells like sandalwood to me, and I find that to be a unisex note. I don’t know if I’d buy this again just to layer it, but I’d consider it! I think it’s very versatile for that purpose, but underwhelming alone. Edited to add: I literally bumped this from 3 stars to 5. It’s my holy grail for layering. I’m obsessed. I can’t live without it. Right now I wear it with Harlem Perfume Co. Josephine as my signature blend. Second edit: The more I wear this, the more I like it, including wearing it alone.
