Made For You Hat Kit (100g Medium/Worsted Weight)

I baught this for my wife for christmas She teaches knit and chrochet and wamted something fun and easy for the break

I purchased a kit for a stocking hat which included a skein of solid color yarn and a skein of varigated colors (same size skeins). The pattern had a brim of solid color and then the solid and varigated yarns alternated for the body of the hat. I used 1/3 (?) of the solid yarn knitting the 2 1/2 inch brim and then thought, "Huh - there's no way I will have enough solid color to do the body." But I forged ahead and sure enough, about halfway through the body, I ran out of solid color yarn. Luckily, I was able to find some matching yarn and finished the hat using that. But WHY would you ever send equal amounts of the two yarns when the pattern required more of one color to be used than the other? The yarn is nice; the hat looks good - but only because I was able to find additional matching yarn. I was very disappointed in my first experience with Michigan Yarns.

Loved this yarn — the colors were vivid and beautiful. Very easy to work with, and feels very nice as a finished piece. I haven’t blocked it yet, but I’m sure it will come out perfectly.
