Insulated Hammock Set

Great hammock set and I LOVE the down insulator. This kept me warm in 3 degree temperatures in the blue mountains NSW hiking.

Finally got to put the kit into action and loved my Alton hammock setup, with (-5C) underquilt. I bought a hammock set (without underquilt) for my twin brother a while back and he got a little chilly in the early hours of the morning. However, I was toasty with my underquilt - barely needed a top quilt or sleeping bag at all. Legitimately one of the best sleeps. Another mate sleeping in a one man tent was adamant that he wanted to get a hammock setup for himself after the trip.

I recently used this on a 3 night hike up in the Victorian high country where we were trekking up a creek system fly fishing the whole way. Being where we were flat ground was somewhat of a rarity and not suited to a traditional hiking tent. The hammock sleep system was light, easy to set, comfortable and kept me dry through a cracking thunderstorm. Only complaint I’d have was that I was too warm when first getting into bed with the underquilt, but was most great full for it in the early hours of the morning when the temperature really dropped. Unfortunately I don’t have any good pics of it set up on our trip, pic is of my trial set up when I was testing everything out.
