I am a newb with de razors. I have been using badger brushes and good shave soap for 4 years and Harry's all this time. This year I started out with van der hagen safety razor and Wilkinson sword blades with good results. I have been using this Parker Varient for a week now. Wow what a fabulous razor. No Nick's. I can't imagine a better razor. The adjustment knob is to dial in your desired closeness. Two passes is sufficient for me. Great razor. Buy it you won't regret it. New England shaving is tops too!
