No mattress needed!

I read a previous review that they just used this topper as the mattress. My baby loves it. It's so soft/plush, heavyweight and firm at the same time. I bought this because I was was looking for a natural latex crib mattress/futon situation, but no luck with what I wanted. The others were floppy, thin and not very supportive looking. We are planning on buying another 3" topper just for height. But so far so good, as is.
