After two weeks we are vary happy with this coffee grinder. Much quieter than our previous unit. Setting 12 works well with the AreoPress. Setting 28 (a course grind for French Press) is not quite as consistent, but I guess that is to be expected for course grinds. Assemble was a bit finicky, silicon rubber seal has a habit of unseating itself and the bean hopper little alignment notch needs a tiny bit of wear in. But taking it easy and a bit a fiddling and it is working great.

Can’t believe we’ve waited this long to buy one

Burr ground coffee is simply much better. The Baratza Encore does it well and at a reasonable price. No unnecessary features, just a solidly built well designed machine. If you like coffee, buy one. Also the top selection of The Wirecutter in New York Times
