Run small not true to size

1st, the leather, construction and style all appear top notch. My issue is with sizing. I proactively reached out to Quoddy to confirm size and let them know I was a 9.5D on a Brannock. I was told to order my normal size. Problem is my size is 10, 9.5 or even 9 (Redwing) contingent on manufacturer. Went on sale, ordered a 9.5 and they are very snug and 10s are sold out so I'm out. I'd assert these actually run 1/4 to 1/2 size small.

No luck

I was disappointed in the comfort level of the shoe given the price. I also wish I could have found my size to try through various sites that offer free shipping and returns. Thus, I would not be out $30 dollars for a shipping and return fee and no shoe to show for it.

Best Leather Boat Shoe

I've been a boater for 40 years and have worn every type and brand of shoes during that time. The quality of these shoes is the best I've seen. The leather is the best you'll see and the soles grip the deck the way you want them to and need them to on a wet, pitching deck. The shoes from China are incrementally slipping in quality as companies try to improve profits by cutting costs. I've had good boat shoes that eventually wore out and when I went to buy the same shoe, it was obviously NOT the same shoe. Kudos to the Maine producers for holding the line on quality even if it means they have to adjust the price. If you buy a Quoddy shoe, you will not regret it.
