Game Boy Pocket IPS Shell - FunnyPlaying

Does not work with the original screen

Despite being ADVERTISED as working with the original Gameboy Pocket screen, it has absolutely no way to keep the screen in place. I have a screen with the backlight mod, and I simply cannot use it with this shell because the 3 layers of the screen are impossible to align and move constantly. The original shell holds these layers in place perfectly fine, by contrast. This listing is false advertising, and I sure hope I can get a refund for this shell and the glass screen lens I wasted by installing into it.

Yeah well it's a nice shell. :) Took the white clear one, not disappointed.

Crooked screen placement

Got this shell to perfectly pair with my IPS funny playing screen which did not fit perfectly centred and required me to trim the small posts inside by 0.1mm at a time to get it to line up, also had to use small bits of cardboard to make it fit cleanly inside the glass screen lens that was purchased from this site. Ended up getting it perfectly centred in the end but now can only play for 2.5 hours with the IPS before the gameboy just shuts down with little warning except a slightly dimmer power LED, so I find myself saving constantly, using energizer lithium batteries, screen looks great but doesn’t look any better except the size when playing original gameboy games than my SP-101 that lasts 14hours and has a rechargeable USB-C battery. So glad I kept a non-modded pocket.
