This was a replacement as the original cracked and a small section of the actual ring portion (not the wood) fell out leaving sharp edges. Not to sure how it cracked, but either way. Its an awesome ring. Have been wearing the original one for almost 3 years without ever taking it off. I must say it took some pretty heavy abuse being outside working on all kinds of stuff.
