Should be included with the basic kit (of course without raising the price). The basic drone is much harder to use without the Beacon, charger, and at least one extra battery. The memory card is kind of superfluous since you're going to buy a few of those anyway.

Range sucks!!! Looses track a lot!! When it is working it is great, which is rare. I wish you could change the height that the drone tracks, and /or you could center the object towards the bottom of the screen, to get better scenery shots.

Trouble with beacon
The beacon connection is not stable and it keeps loosing contact every now and then. Also, while flying it gives me an error saying gimbal obstructed and the drone stops in the middle.
