Disappointed with the resilience to elements

Don’t get me wrong. The fire pit looks beautiful and luxurious. The problem is that it comes with a cover that is a joke: it is not water proof and, actually, using it during a moderate rain night caused moist to accumulate and leave water stains that I’m not able to remove. After contacting the manufacturer, I was told that the fire pit is not supposed to stay under inclement weather. Isn’t it weird for a 160lb outdoors item?
