pretty nice! still too tight for my liking so i have sized up and the waist is a bit high but it can sit lower fairly comfortably, which is true of the original/cargo as well, but NOT of the cooling/staple, which just rolls uncomfortably up or down even when sizing up. the leg holes are a smidge tighter than i'd want but i am banking on that elasticity starting to fail a bit over time at which point it'll be perfect. i fear if i size up more it'll just cover more of my tummy to the point of creating actual folds in the fabric that i could feel through pants, which is a far far worse fate for me than some slight tightness around les thighs

Best thing I bought for vacation
I bought three pairs before I went on vacation to Europe and I’m so glad I did!
These are the perfect weight for warm days, the band fits comfortably around the thigh and very comfortable around the waist.
I didn’t even feel like I was wearing them most days and they definitely kept me comfortable while I was walking 25,000 steps per day.
Highly recommend! The organic cotton ones are also lovely.

cotton shorts
i bought all four types of shorts and they're all great. the cotton shorts (which i got in black, which might be the only reason it's not worn as much as the others) is more substantial than the cooling or the staple, but still very soft, easy to layer. they're definitely NOT totally opaque, but are close enough that i'm fine wearing them around the house on their own on lazy days. also great under your cotton/linen pants when you want the extra smoothing but not to be wearing synthetics.
