Lovely material, matches the newborn gown perfectly. Bought the second size, "5-18 mo", because newborn was out until after the due date for this gift. This 'size 2' hat barely fits a doll, and will stretch to fit a typical 8 lb. newborn for the pictures in first days - maybe. It is actually the size you would expect for a smaller newborn, and circumference does not match description. ONLY get for 4-7 lb babies! (And I'm a homebirth midwife that has measured baby heads for 40+ years!).
