The Olivia pattern is fantastic! The instructions are great and come with a video tutorial for those times that you need a visual. As a mid-sized 36-year-old, I'm currently most comfortable in a one piece but don't want to be completely covered up. The cut of this suit is perfect with the scooping neckline, narrow straps, and different bum coverages. I opted for the cheeky coverage and felt comfortable while still showing some booty. I'm a 36 DD and felt secure with the narrow straps even though I didn't do the shelf bra. I made two suits and only ran into issues on the second one. First, the fabric: I made both reversible so I could have variety on an upcoming vacation without packing a bunch of swim suits. The first one I made had your more typical swim fabric (the one shown in the photo) on one side and a stretchy swim fabric on the other. The fit was perfect. The second one I made had your typical swim fabric on both sides and felt much more compressive. I'm between the two size ranges and may need to try grading between sizes for my next make to account for the fabric used. Second, the elastic: on the first one, I used a 3/8" braided swim elastic and the second was a 1/4" rubber swim elastic. For some reason I had real issues with the rubber elastic fitting and sitting flat where the straps attach to the body of the one piece. I may flip it inside out again and trim back the elastic around those areas. I will be making this pattern over and over again. I couldn't recommend it more!

I’m so in love with this swimsuit! The fit is great and very comfortable. The instructions were easy to follow. I got this pattern when it was $5 to try out sewing my own swimwear and I’ve definitely been hooked. I’ll for sure be making more edge water avenue pieces.

I really like this suit pattern. Attaching the straps at the back is a little confusing the first time around but otherwise very straightforward sew. I made the cheeky version and found it *very* cheeky — might need personal adjustments so it doesn’t ride up. Made a size small per measurements and the fit is great. I’ll be making a full coverage version soon!
