Bokashi Kitchen Compost Bin, 2.5 gal

I love this composting bucket. The insert with the rubber seal really allows you to compress the material into the bucket and expel the excess air out. I feel it creates a better anaerobic environment than the gray bucket. Plus, it looks nice and takes up less room than the other style.

I love this Bokashi system! We use it mostly for our cats leftover wet food.

The bran that came with the containers was not what I was expecting. It was in big solid clumps which made it difficult to measure and sprinkle over the waste. NOTE: instructions say to use 20ml’s of bran which was confusing as ml typically indicates liquid measure as posed to dry. I crumbled it up as much as possible but I’m not sure that worked as intended. I poured off the liquid as instructed but very little liquid accumulated after a couple of weeks even though I continued to add waste and bran. When I emptied the full bin after sitting for 2 weeks, I could not determine if contents fermented decomposed. There did appear to be white mold on top. I do not expect you to include this in your reviews, but preferably a direct response to help me understand how to properly use.
