never uninstall or install strips when product is cold

I haven't used them yet, but come fall, I am going to install my glass window. My screen is in place now so I can get fresh air in the house. I read up on how to uninstall & install them and it says when you install them, make sure strips are warm, they will be more pliable and easier to put in. it says never to install strips when they are cold. and its the same for uninstalling them

I did not know I had to cut to fit the sides and notch the corners. One side got locked under the door frame and broke on whole side retainer. I used the extra tops and bottoms to fill in for the damaged retainer.
