I build slow so the process is still happening. But so far all is going well. The covering has been flawless - I have only touched up one spot with my iron. With the sale and watching The Lighter Side of RC I decided to buy a second Turbinator2 for parts. Ideally I won't need those and I'll have a second plane to fly once I wear this one out. One building issue I had was with hinging the ailerons. After glueing the hinges with Hysol I checked the amount of movement on the upside and called it good - turns out the downside only has half the movement of the upside - this will be okay with differential but not sure why that happened.

Super Fun Jet

I'm building mine, and had the kit for two months already. About three more months and it will be ready. I'm using Promodeler servos, Jeti radio system and Xicoy X90 turbine. I build very slow, I'm sure this could be built over a long weekend. 1. It is nice that Boomerang has the models in stock, no 6 to 12 month wait. 2. The model is not a typical composite jet kit, its more like a war bird or 3D kit. I like working with a wooden kit again. 3. The fuel system is good, just to make sure to leak test it. 4. The hardware is good, no need to upgrade it. 5. I've had good success with JP landing gear and no complaints about it. I have friends with this jet, there are at least six flying at my field. Everyone says get one, they are so fun to fly. It goes pretty fast on a 70 to 90 turbine and slows down for a stable landing.
