Fits my needs well

I have been getting excellent shaves with my Rockwell 6S. However I am 84 and my hands are becoming arthritic. The stainless razor is now too heavy for me. The Henson is much easier for me to hold. It also gives excellent shaves. The patterning on the grip provides a surprisingly good nonslip surface, even better than a standard knurled surface. Very pleased with this purchase, and as usual with Maggard's great service.

Wonderfully smooth razor

I enjoyed using the Maggard handle and head combination I purchased several years ago but recently found myself wanting something a bit more gentle and precise. I read many reviews on the Henson AL13 being one of the mildest razors on the market, and the claims are true in my case. I have virtually no irritation shaving with this razor, and I can even get away with shaving with just hot water when I'm rushed in the mornings. The AL13 is expensive, yes, but I think that it is well worth the money and will be a razor I use for many many years.

Henson Medium Razor - Wonder Shave

I had been using the same $20, double edge, safety razor, on and off, for about 10 years. I have tried a multitude of electric razors claiming and failing to give me a nice, hassle free, close shave. I avoided shaving because it has been very unenjoyable for me since I’ve started. I have curly facial hair that creates a myriad of ingrown hairs on my neck. I either have to shave often or grow my beard out. As you may know, deciding on which razor to buy is not that easy of a decision to make. I’m writing this review to help you make that decision. Buy this dang razor. I know the price is a little high, but upgrading from my $20 rattle-can razor is like night and day. It does seem too good to be true and I bounced around the thought of buying this razor or another more “traditional” style razor for a while. I trusted the reviews, bought it, and have loved it ever since. If you don’t want to go through the trial and error of finding the perfect razor, then just get this one. It’s straight forward and gets down to business right out of the box. Sure, the aluminum is lighter than some may enjoy, in my opinion, it doesn’t matter. If you want a no BS, easy shave, this is the one for you. The razor housing is solid and stays solid. I don’t feel the blade bite then slice through every hair follicle it passes. The housing does its job and holds that blade nice and firmly for a smooth clean shave.
