3.5 stars, allow me to explain. This is, by all means, an excellent product. It smells like my favorite after-shower splash, Osage Rub, which is a menthol eucalyptus affair. Fresh, light, and doesn’t announce its presence to anyone who’s not in close. However, it touts itself as water based, but is fairly oily and needs at least two shampoos to wash out. Not a huge deal, but I prefer a Suavecito-like pomade that only requires 1 shampoo. I’m sure the natural oils have additional nutritional benefits for your hair, but I’m not trying to leave “soul glow” residue on my nice sofa pillows or bed pillows. The hold is firm, yet soft, which is nice, but you do need to re-comb throughout the day to keep the style fresh since there is no crispiness whatsoever. And one more thing, it really has more of a hair cream texture than a modern pomade texture.
Again, excellent product, just not 100% my cup of tea.
To be fair, I’ve received compliments on my hair when using this product, which is always awesome. I just don’t feel this is a true water-based, easy-to-wash-out, firm in the true sense of the word performer.
