Absolutely love this machine. I have not found it a burden to deal with the single pump, and the steam is amazing. Be careful what you put on top - the stainless steel scratches easily… I put my acme cups on the top and the uncoated ceramic bottom scratched the top of the machine up pretty quickly. I waited a long time to buy this machine and I’m totally satisfied!

Best coffee I ever made

Unlike home machines with pressurised baskets and other gizmos to ensure instant brewing success, this machine needs a bit of getting used to. However it is well worth putting the initial effort in. If have learned that puck preparation is the key, and the output is amazing. I never made such a good coffee in the past. The machine is as straight forward as it could be, I am in full control, which I love. I also had a quick look “under the bonnet“ and was quite impressed about the quality of components, especially with my experience repairing my old home machines. Although the drip tray seems high grade stainless steel, the fact some parts of the housing does not seem to be stainless steel, and/or a different (lower?) grade. The other thing is that the cups kept walking around on the tray when the pump was going, but it was easy to fix with a thin rubber underlay on top of the tray, salvaged from my old machine. The steam pressure is mind blowing if you are used to home machines, although it takes a while to heat up after brewing. But by the time I fill the pitcher with milk and give the bench a wipe, the machine is ready. This procedure works much better than steaming the milk first as suggested in one of the AB videos.
