I bought the 5+ and 7+ hatch reels from Lost Coast, and I am just floored with the quality. They are incredibly durable, feel very slick, and are in general very well thought out. It is true that the 5+ can be used for casting 7 wt line and excels at this. I purchased these reels within the last year and have only used them in salt water. They are probably overkill for fresh water, but since they are bomb proof you cant go wrong with any scenario. Dudes at LCO were super helpful in educating me on all options and helping me decide which way to go.
