Awesome Speakers - Straight Forward Install

Great speakers, high quality. Sound unbelievable. Highly recommend amp to enjoy the full range. Install was straight forward. DIY, took some time.

It's a great upgrade... with caveats.

I have a non-amplified system as of this review. The sound profile of these speakers is a lot cleaner and brighter, which is to say that you will be losing what little "bass" the stock system was providing with the ported speaker box. This is great news if you are also adding something to provide that bass like a subwoofer, as the sound will be a lot better overall. The install itself was very annoying, but that is not part of the review. The image shows the change in sound profile. The stock is on the left and the speaker upgrade is on the right.

Absolutely game changing!

Purchased these for my wife’s JL, she made complaints about not being able to fully enjoy the stock speakers with the doors off at 45+ mph due to the wind noise. Now these DS18’s blow her away! I paired them with the replacement tweeters in the dash as well and it sounds phenomenal! Stock can’t even start to compare! 10/10, would recommend!
