Toyota Tacoma (2005-2023) Full Aluminum Skid Plate System

Couldn’t Be Happier!

As a local customer just getting into off-roading, I wanted to make sure my 2022 Tacoma was protected. I saw this skid plate set on their website for a great price. The YouTube installation video was spot on. I am not someone who typically works on my own truck but the video made it super simple. I look forward to supporting this company moving forward and can’t wait to add more Backwoods gear to my 3rd gen Tacoma!

Low weight | High quality

It took me a long time to decide between steel and aluminum skids. I daily drive my truck, so weight was a big factor. I’m glad I went with BW. The skids are excellent quality, welds look great, impact points are reinforced, and they’re seriously beefy. Installation was pretty straightforward. Printed instructions would have been nice; having to watch a video while laying under the truck was a bit of a pain. That said, the printed labels identifying which skid uses which hardware were a great touch. They made installation easier and helped when a bolt inevitably tried to disappear. Total install time was about 1. 5 hours. I haven’t taken any real hits on them yet, but I’ll report back when I do. I can say FedEx performed a drop test, launched them right out of the truck. The box broke, and the skids scraped on the concrete, but they held up well and only needed a quick rattle-can touch-up. Shipping from BWAM to my house in California took six days, which is an easy A+. Big thanks to Mo for the help with ordering.

Love the fit, finish, and how heavy duty they are for being aluminum. Lots of coverage. Can't beat the price either!
