Sounds good but a little flat
I replaced my B&O MMC5 with this cartridge, which received great reviews. Clearly my selection of stylus's isn't the creme de la creme but they aren't the cheapest either. That said, I can't say I hate this cartridge; however, it is a little flat compared to my B&O and it lacks the warmth I enjoy while listening. Rumor has it the cartridge will open up after some play time. I'm not sure that's how it works but I remain hopeful. As for value, everything is expensive so I suppose for the cost of this cart, the value is there. To end on a positive note, installation was very easy.

Nice upgrade
Strongly recommend the Blue over the Red, my vinyl playing is limited, but I’m very happy with my upgrade to Blue, Ortofon

Excellent Cartridge and Excellent Vendor
Regarding the vendor, Audio Exchange, the delivery was very quick. Everything was very well-packaged and protected. Awesome service. Regarding the Ortofon 2M Blue Moving Magnet Cartridge, it is an excellent cartridge it terms of sound. Tested it listening to Duke Ellington's "Jingle Bells" from Jingle Bell Jazz. Whoa! The sound was absolutely amazing - very clear and a lot of depth. The package contains the cartridge with a stylus protection cover and a pair of short mounting screws and one pair of long mounting screws. It also comes with a handy screw driver and a cleaning brush. Of course, it has an instruction booklet which notes the stylus pressure calibration specs. The turntable I use is a Technics SL-1200GR. I mounted the cartridge on the Technics headshell that came with the turntable. I used the overhang gauge supplied with the turntable. You have to take special care to make sure the cartridge is aligned correctly, but it was easy. I used the short mounting screws that came with the Ortofon cartridge. I calibrated the cartridge according to the Technics instructions for the tonearm and the Ortofon specs for the stylus pressure. It was a very easy process. Again, the sound is amazing. I really love listening to vinyl records again!
