I was misinformed

I communicated with the owner multiple times about the fit of this item and trusted her judgement so I ordered the item in a size XL. I'm a size 16/18 for reference. I knew the top was going to show cleavage so I expected it but the shirt ran so small I could barely get it on. The shirt definitely wasn't true to size which was upsetting because I bought the set to wear it TOGETHER. The skirt also runs smaller than normal, I have to shimmy it on. This is why if brands are going to offer plus size, it's important to have a plus size model wearing the items. All of this could have been avoided possibly if there was some sort of plus-size representation stating how the item ran. Now I have an outfit I can barely wear and it's extraordinarily frustrating because I did buy this outfit for an event that I had now I have to scramble to find something else.
