The base coat has good staying power if you let it set a bit first. I wait about 30-60 seconds before moving on to my next layer so it's not too wet, otherwise the polish can slide off. It does contain PVB if your nails are the peeling type. Apart from these minor issues, it works great. The top coat works very well at a cost, which is the toluene odor. Any polish with toluene will have it. Do your nails in a ventilated area! If you can tolerate the unique smell, the top coat will give you a plump top coat that dries quickly. Toluene is not compatible with magnetic nail polishes, so don't ruin your hard work!

Best Duo Ever

I have tried just about every base and top coat over the decades I have been manicuring my own nails. I find the KBShimmer to be the best, the base goes on easily, dries fast and is ready for my polish. The top coat glides over the polish without dragging it and also dries quickly. One of my favorite things about the top coat (Clearly on top) is that it doesn’t shrink leaving a weird edge around my nail. This is the only topcoat I have found that stays put. My manicures last easily 10 days and this is through working with materials like Thinset concrete, yardwork and cleaning. It has never chipped: usually I re-do my nails because of grow out. This stuff is magic!
