Gingerbread Tissue Box Cover Pattern

I am used to following holes not bars, and had to cut the roof pieces three times to get them right. That is my issue though, not the pattern. I like how the walls are stitched together in a swirling candy cane pattern! I have never done that before! Once this is done, it will be a gift for a family member who specifically picked this pattern out.

I’m a beginner. It’s taking me a long time to do this. I’ve never done cross stitch before. It’s unfair for me to review. It’s very hard doing the gum drops, they don’t look like gum drops the way I’m doing it. I thought this was going to be much easier. Wish I had a video tutorial
