I really liked it
I love the bitter sweet taste it leaves you with. I love the art and the story. I've been hoping to read something from Tony Sandoval for a long time.

A Successful Spiritual Successor to Water Snakes
Sandoval utilizes multiple art styles and levels of detail to evoke multiple layers of emotion. The magic and realism are expertly woven between each other like a musician strumming a guitar. The rhythmic quality to the storytelling is the hardest to quantify and the most endearing; it’s as if we are given the dreamlike serenity of a picture book mixed with the guts and glory of a Grimm’s Fairy Tale. The characters in 1000 Storms are a purposeful mixture between a textured watercolor painting and a sketchy caricature. The result is a truly unique and unsettling universe.

Good art, but not his best work
Like his other books the art is what is both unique and interesting to me. The synopsis for this one got my attention, but with multiple storylines and ideas that didn't really mix and go anywhere by the end, as well as the sexualization of the teenage characters just seemingly thrown in, made the whole feel like a mess, where it could have been much better.
