Having done things backwards and come to trout fishing after salmon fishing i have been looking for a Spey line to use with a 5 weight trout rod. This line is expensive, but a revelation, allowing spey and snake rolls to be made with ease but keeping a delicate presentation. I have also tried it with a 5 foot sink tip with good results. Oh, and if you do need to do an overhead cast it is absolutely fine, but i suspect there are cheaper options available if you don't prefer to Spey cast.
