Miraculous Medal Signet Ring in 14k Gold

This ring is lovely, but too fragile. My husband gave it to me for my birthday, after a few years of my hoping to someday receive it. It is absolutely lovely, however, it bent almost immediately. I'm a stay at home mom, and I'm pretty sure just opening and closing our minivan door is what bent it out of shape. I only had it a month or so before it was compromised. I was surprised and so bummed. I've worn plenty of rings and never experienced this. I took it to a jeweler for their opinion and they literally thought it was an old, worn-down ring because the shank was so thin and frail. I bought the ring to wear on my pinky, as is super common with signet rings, and I'm now learning what a high-traffic finger a pinky is and how very fragile the ring is. There isn't really another design like this out there, so although the seller offered for me to return the ring, I am keeping it and I will eventually pay to re-shank it to an appropriate thickness for daily wear. In the mean time, I am taking it to the jeweler and they are placing it on their round ring form and just hammering it back into shape. They say eventually it will break and then I should re-shank it. If you only intend to wear it occasionally, or don't work a lot with your hands, you may be fine. But on a pinky finger and as a daily piece, which was always my intent, it's too thin in the back.
