Almost Perfect
I wear 8.5 to 9, and the 8.5 fit perfectly, a very comfortable boot. The Canyon Cross boots are the only Idyllwind boots that have a Broad Square toe combined with the “Free to Roam” comfort rubber outsole, a really comfortable combination.
I have a pair of the Lawless boots with the “Free to Roam” comfort rubber outsole, and they are not quite as comfortable, but close; and a more dressy look, as they have a Narrow Square toe and 12" shaft that has a 14.5" circumference.
The Canyon Cross boots have an 11" tall shaft, but are 15.5" in circumference at the top of the shaft just above the V cut.
Now I really like the “Free to Roam” comfort rubber outsole, with the Broad Square toe on these! The are the most comfortable Idyllwind boots I have tried so far.
But the Canyon Cross boots were too wide and short in the shaft for me. They have a more casual look and are very comfortable to be sure. But they looked a little manly and square with the wider and shorter shaft. They are attractive in a different way.
I have more than 1 pair of the Idyllwind Outlaw boots in different colors, and I really like the way they look with the Broad Square toe and taller narrower 12" shaft (and 14" circumference): But I am not nuts about the "Hybrid leather TPU outsole on those, as the leather part of the outsole wears out fast, turns white and starts to fray soon after wearing a few times.
So I took my Outlaw boots to the Cobbler and had rubber outsoles put on. (They are more comfortable, durable and slip resistant that way).
When I saw the Canyon Cross boots, I thought cool as heck, the Canyon Cross boots already have a rubber outsole, so I dont' have to take it in to get rubber put on, and maintained! But the shaft is too low and wide for my skinny chicken legs.
NOTE to Idyllwind: Please make apair like the Canyon Cross boots, with a Broad Square toe, but with a narrower 12" tall shaft that is 14" to 14.5" circumference, with the “Free to Roam” comfort rubber outsole! They would be so perfect! Comfortable and tall!
I give the Canyon Cross boots 4 stars as Almost Perfect, as they are the Most Comfortable, but just not as good looking with a shorter shaft, and the shaft is too wide for some, sadly.
