I had high hopes for the order as I love trying out new products and smaller companies. I am quite used to drinking good quality hojicha and matcha (including bought directly in Japan). No typical sweet nutty aroma of hojicha when the bag was opened and/or brewed. Might be old stock. Not refundable.

My first experience with hojicha genmai or any genmai for that matter and my first impression is a beautiful toasted cereal flavor, similar to our puffed wheat or puffed rice. Really very delicious blend that adds to the roasted hojicha, nutty, cocoa background notes. Thanks so much for these lovely teas!
