Teak Louvered Door (Big)

We were replacing the original console door of a 1988 Outrage as we had hit a big wave and the wooden pegs broke that held everything together. The new door from Specialty Marine had 2 problems: 1) the strip across the top on the new door was permanently affixed to the frame whereas the original strip was removable as it hid screws into the fiberglass underneath. 2) there was a hairline crack in the wood. Additionally the newer teak is not as dark or dense as the old teak. We ended up returning the new door as we found a custom cabinet maker who got the old one back together. By fixing the old door, we avoided having to drill many holes -a task that we were not up for. We appreciate Specialty Marine -delivery was prompt and they are always our go-to supplier of parts when maintaining our old Whaler.
