Amazing, Lightweight and compact harness!
So, when this harness came out there was a lot of discussion (mostly negative) about this harness and I wanted to see what the big deal was. I am coming from using an On Rope 1 Goliath and the regular Petzl Superavanti and I must say, this harness is pretty incredible. It is very similar to the Superavanti but with some streamlined connections with the leg loops, and a much smaller d-ring hookup. Because of these adjustments It is even lighter than the Superavanti and has added features that make it even more comfortable and light than the double-padded OR-1. It makes for a perfect, long haul harness where you would need to wear this in the cave for an extended amount of time. And I LOVE the new D-ring loops--they are fit to be tight on the ring which makes for a much cleaner hook up, and it actually sits considerably lower than other harness I have tried (despite critiques from some saying it was higher--you can't tell much from the images, folks). It weighs in at about 1 lb 1oz and it collapses nicely--only taking up about a 1/4 of my large swaygo with a fully loaded frog system attached. It looks structurally sound and has the usual quality stitching one might expect from a Petzl harness, but really the best part about this thing is its size and comfort--which it blows other harnesses out of the water in both areas. Come in two sizes, with most people probably going to be using the size 2--I am 5'4, about 155lb, 32in waist and the 1 was just too small, but the 2 fits me perfectly, and allows for all of the recommended strap tail lengths of at least 8cm. Unless you are a very small and thin--I would go with the size 2. Amazing harness! Get it if you want to be comfortable on those long hauls and streamline your frog!
