Making a wood handle for a small Mattock. Started with a standing, dead oak tree behind our house. Split and cut pieces down to the rough piece shown in the picture. I used a 2x36 Inch Premium Zirconia 40 grit belt to remove significant amounts of material and rough out the handle. Followed that with a 2x36 Inch Premium Zirconia 100 grit belt to finalize the shape. Finished up with a 2x36 EdgeCore Flexible Ceramic 180 grit belt to complete the smooth surface. The finished handle is shown in the picture. The sanding belts worked flawlessly and the handle turned out great.
