12V to 5V USB Power Converter

It didn’t work as planned. It’s probably not your product failing.

My plan was to hook up a solar panel through a controller to my phone charger. It didn’t work. Perhaps I have to have a battery in the mix for the charge controller. I’ll keep trying by adding a 12 volt battery to the mix.

Powered dash cam

The USB plug was wrong for my Nextbase dashcam, but I cut and soldered the proper plug onto the adapter with no problem. Works as intended for my 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The adapter unit and wiring all fit under the rear view mirror housing where I tapped into 12 volts using my voltmeter. I now have a clean installation with no dangling wires running to the lighter socket. My only complaint would be there should be clear pictures of the available power plugs on the adapter description to avoid confusion when ordering .
