I purchased my first Atocha coin from MFST November 1993, a grade 4, 4 reale from when the museum was at 200 canal street. I got to meet Mel, who was gracious enough to autograph the certificate of authenticity with "today's the day Brian! Mel" and Shari Culpepper took a polaroid of Mel and I. I now own a small collection of Atocha artifacts and hope to grow my collection in the future! I love the new arrivals, especially the 5-carat emerald in the octopus mount!
