Thoughtfully constructed, this guide to JRPGs through the decades isn't just another alphabetical compendium of games. The contextual writeups at the beginning of it help set the stage for the sections to follow, and the author(s) have grouped JRPGs together into various sub-genres and sub-groups which make for a richer reading experience, and not just a reference tome (not that there's anything inherently wrong with reference books). It's still easy to find specific titles using the index in the back, but each game feels like it's in conversation with the other games next to it in this book. A great read for a great price with great cover art, so it looks nice on a shelf or coffee table.

Great Service and Intersting Book

This book serves as a guide to many JRPG series. It has an extensive list of games in it while trying to mention the importance of the game to both players and the industry. I am using it as a listing to find some new JRPGs to get to in the future.
