Once my most favorite Dovetail but good things never seem to last

These pants have been my favorite style ever since my first pair, three years ago! I own several other Dovetails -I also enjoy Maven X from the same era- but noticed a slight change in fit of the Day Construct when I purchased a second pair last year when the first one was starting to wear a bit; it felt slightly looser but I didn’t give it much thought. However, this time around -my third pair- I notice that the pants are extremely roomy in the thighs, esp. on the inside and outside of thighs. My guess is that there’s at least 2” extra material per pant leg. The Day Construct used to have a nice flattering fit and yet was very easy to work in; I am a gardener and they had plenty room to crouch and squat. The latest ones are so loosy-goosy in the upper legs now that it’s a completely different fit. Waist is still the same and length too, but my initial excitement when wearing my first pair of Dovetails is over with these. Other DT pants all have their own sizing and fit issues, which makes it hard to know what to buy. Some of the stretchy materials started tearing after a dozen times of wear and washing. That’s why I prefer the Day Construct material, but it’s just another loose fitting workpant now.

Just one suggestion

These pants are great. I love all the reinforcements in places that usually wear out. My only issue is the lack of belt loops. Five is not sufficient, I need seven. The back corners of my pants keep sliding out below my belt.

Don't fit even though same size as everything else I buy...

I need to slim down, but these were too tight around the waist to even button although I got the same size I always buy. I am losing weight, so I'm going to give them a try after a few more pounds.
