The performance of the rod is excellent, it is gentle - after all, I was expecting a slightly stiffer tip in 5W, so in a way it is more like 4W. It is soft, everything is crafted with precision, it holds up well and is great to throw around. I primarily bought the rod for fishing on larger trout and non-trout rivers for fishing at shorter distances. On the first fishing trip, I caught a 35 cm rainbow trout on a streamer. no problem to overcome it even in a strong current. for me the rod is overall very very good. Maybe I would have expected a little stronger in 5w (we are tall and skinny over 50 cm) and I would definitely prefer a two-piece version. I wish you all the best.

I have a handful of 5 wt rods, but I really enjoy this one… casts great and feels great in the hand. Glad I purchased it.
