LOVE this violin! The setup Kennedy did is awesome. It feels exactly like my professional acoustic violin- it stays in tune, the pegs are well fitted, the fingerboard is comfortable and the strings are well spaced. I can transition between the two with no problems at all. I would gladly use this violin in a semi-professional setting if I had occasion to. I expected this to be on par with the beginner violins that my students bring in. Quite the opposite. I've found myself practicing more because I can throw on the headphones and not wake anyone in the house. The headphones also pick up all the nuances of intonation and bowing and put them right in my ear, so I can course correct more quickly. If I had to change one thing it would be the bow. I have been using my professional bow on this, and am not loving the one that came with the kit. That said, I don't actually care because the violin itself is worth the price point and then some. Great experience in every way: Product was exactly as described, shipping was quick, support has so far been excellent. In terms of quality of product, I cannot find fault in this price range. The acoustic sound is thinner than a full sized acoustic (as expected), but still pleasant enough to practice. The amplified sound is again, faultless in the price range. Also, the instrument was clearly setup with care, by a skilled technician, so I was able to start playing with very little effort. The carbon fiber bow and shoulder rest were worth the extra, also. Great work, all around!
