Expected stain , not paint

We ordered the cherry brown cabinet with dark top and expected the finish to be a stain, since it is made of wood. However, it appears to be a dark brown paint, which was not what we had intended for the bath vanity. It was packaged well and we expect to have it installed in a few weeks….
