My old ClosetMaid system (nearly 40 years old) collapsed when we had new flooring installed in our bedroom and the workers were less than gentle in removing items to get to the floor. After months of empty promises from the contractor to fix things, I decided to take matters into my own hands. 79 year old widow's hands, mind you. Researched various closet systems, wood, wire wall-mounted, etc. Finally decided to place nice sturdy garment racks I could configure to suit myself in the 10 foot space. Ordered Vipek V2 heavy duty rack, spent over 20 hrs removing old painted over screws and toggled hooks, wrestling the old shelves, spackling 42 holes (learned more than I ever wanted to know about spackle), painting over spackled areas. It only took about 45 minutes to put the garment rack together, now I'm going through my clothing and getting rid of a lot of it. Like the rack so much I have ordered a 2nd one to use in the other half of my closet. I will even have enough room left to hide a vacuum cleaner! So proud of myself!
