ValueBull Beef Trachea, Premium 5-6 Inch, 25 Count Bulk Pack

Can't give 3.5 stars ...

*Ordered "premium" tracheas, 5-6", 25 count (my usual order).* Have been purchasing these for my pup for over a year. Up until 3 orders ago I was 100% satisfied with these tracheas. These last 3 orders have been - in my opion - a lower quality than all the previous orders. Specifically, many (8 +/- out of 25) of the tracheas have been burnt in appearance: real dark in color, extra brittle, oddly shaped & smell like old, sour bacon fat (even though they're beef). Plus 90% of each order has what appears to be lots of crunchy fat all over them (fat reminds me of fried pork rinds). I used to order the "regular" 5-6 inch tracheas but they never seem to be in stock lately, so the last 3 or 4 orders were for the "premium" tracheas. Honestly, the non-premium ones - again, my opinion - were/are better quality: lighter color, more chewy, nearly ordorless & way less fat. Even my pup doesn't seem as enthused over these as he used to be. While I understand that there will be variations between each individual trachea, it seems that each order overall is becoming more & more consistantly inconsistant. One final difference is that the last 3 orders have had more "end" pieces than hearty "middle" pieces. (Am curious if the goings on in Turkey [ie: earthquake] in 2025 had, or are having, an impact on quality as these tracheas originate from there.) Am hoping this shift in quality is temporary. By the end of this latest order, I will decide whether or not to give this product one more try. Rating is actually 3.5 stars but I'm giving 4 stars because there were more 5 star orders than not. Also, ValueBull's customer service has always been exemplary and that's the other reason for the 4 star rating upgrade.

I like this product because i dont like all the chemicals in rawhide. The pig ears, beef trickia and chicken feet are good healthy alternatives. My puppies love these items. It keeps them busy and i hoping to continue to give them when they get up to 100lbs.
