Big, But Still Too Small
Well build, and offers a fair amount real-estate for mounting pouches. However, I find it's too small for my needs. With the standard CPgear 64 setup, the compression panel is right behind my head whenever both my ruck and valise are packed. Consequently, any pouches mounted on it end up hitting me in the back of the head (see first picture below). I've tried letting out the mounting straps as much as possible, but I only got an extra 4" or so out of them before running out of webbing. I would like to request a larger panel that solves the above mentioned problem, and instead takes advantage of the extra space available (see second picture). I ask such a design include the following features: - Eight rows of 10 or 12 channel Molle webbing. Effectively doubling the length, and increasing the width by 25-50% - Switch from four 1" adjustable mounting straps to just three. While this would be somewhat weaker, this would allow the middle strap to utilize an otherwise unused hole in the top middle of the 1606AC frame, rather than trying to stuff the two inboard straps through already-used holes (see third picture below). This middle hole is large enough to accommodate a 1.5" strap, if the strength and durability of only three 1" mounting straps is a concern. - Keep the A7A Buckles 4 Molle webbings apart, so the continue to align with the straps of the ruck below. However, rather than having them at the edge of the panel, have them in the middle of the panel (between Molle Rows 4 and 5). This way, whenever there are smaller/lighter loads, the bottom 4 rows of the panel can be folded up underneath the top 4 rows, with minimal adjustments to any other straps. - If there is an issue with the outside corners being unsupported or strapped down tight, have the panel taper down from 12 channels to 10/8 or 10 channels to 8. - Fourth picture is a 2:5 scale sketch of this concept with said features included.
