My steel Bock nib is smooth, but stiff. I decided to switch to the gold nib. I had it plated in platinum to match more closely with my pen , which is titanium. The plating is perfect. No flaws, even under a loupe.
The nib is even smoother than the steel one, and the ink flow is good because I have one of FP nibs ebonite Bock feeds. Moreover, the nib has just a slight bit of bounce, which makes writing a pleasure.
