This was my second gown purchased from Lara in my search to find a mother-of-the-groom gown. Over my journey, I ordered six gowns, and the final purchase was a keeper. I went back to Lara as my experience with a return was extraordinaire. Returns were easy and processed quickly. The refund was issued before the stated time! This is incredibly fantastic when shopping online for that one perfect dress and waiting for your $ to be released so you can move on to the next gown. My package arrived quickly. The lesson I have learned is that for any gown shipped in a box, you must either have it professionally steamed or do that yourself. As for the gown, my experience is that the picture of the color will always look lighter than what you receive. I experienced that with all six gowns. This gown’s color is dusty purple. You can see tones of lavender at the bottom of the gown, but that is pretty much it. I would say the color combines dusty gray/blue with undertones of lavender. The color will work well with the sage bridesmaids and MOB navy gowns. The bodice of the dress is stunning with the beading. The overlay at the cleavage area is perfect for softening that area of the dress. I am wearing 3” heels giving a minimum amount of drag to the bottom of the gown. I tried 3.5” heels, and they flawlessly lifted the dress. I do not have much time to commit to alterations as it is prom season, and the wedding is next month. This dress fit as if it was custom-made for me, and glad I followed the suggestion of sizing up, as I did not do that with the first gown and had to shimmy into it. It would be best to use the appropriate undergarments to hold the wrinkles and bulges in place. I brought a padded bra with an additional 2” padding as I knew the bodice would have been too large with sizing up. I had one question about the gown after I received it, and Lara quickly responded with the answer. For all those MOBs and MOGs, this is a gown to consider as it fits in all the right places and hides the areas we are most challenged with. I am extremely satisfied with my online experience with Lara, one of the best I had during this journey. 64 years young, normally a size 12, 5’5” tall.
