Honestly, I bought the pedal because the name made me laugh, and it came from a Canadian company. Having now played it, I'd say it's a really good fuzz pedal, and I have no regrets about getting it. To my ears, the Bias control doesn't seem to affect the tone much. I can hardly hear a difference at all going from 0 to 10 on the dial. But Fuzz Face type fuzz pedals usually don't have a bias control at all, so whatever. Overall, if you want a good, basic fuzz and a fair price, this one fits the bill.

Old School Fuzz for Old School Players

You want to sound like Jimi? Well, you're going to have to practice. Want to get fuzz like Jimi? Well, then you're going to need a Phoque Face in your arsenal. A fantastic take on the "classic" fuzz of the 60s and 70s. You can get the same range of textured fuzz as heard on recorded performances of Jimi Hendrix, Keith Richards, pedal steel wizard "Sneaky Pete" Kleinow, and The Ventures with this pedal. Going for a classic sound? This is your device.

Phoque face is great

I love the sound and the control you have. It cleans up very nicely when playing soft and the grit comes out great when playing with more intensity. I love it and recommend!
