Drilling 32mm holes in the Australian hardwood blackbutt is pretty much like trying to drill through hardened steel. The WoodOwl managed it with a bit of a struggle but the holes were round, not ovoid, and more than good enough for use as mortises. If you're going to use them for chair or furniture making, just be aware that the snail and spurs are pretty short so you'd probably need to start drilling with the auger close to 90 degrees and lean into your required angle.
