Wilderness Systems Recon 120 Kayak

This is an excellent fishing platform. It is extremely stable and has a lot of awesome features. Also very excited to be able to add the pedal drive eventually.

Great kayak for this first time owner. I picked this model because of how high the seat is. All the kayaks I sat on at stores were very uncomfortable and the Recon 120 is by far the most comfortable. The seat is cool, comfortable, and the angle of backrest easily adjustable. It is well-laid out and plenty of space for gear. Just took a 4 day paddle/fish/camp trip in northern Wisconsin and all of my gear fit - 2 fishing rods, tackle, food, tent, sleeping bag, thermarest mat, and backpack - with room to spare. I did need a slightly longer paddle due to being so high out of the water but the company from which I purchased swapped them out for me free of charge. The kayak is pretty heavy and had to use my Kayak Kart for portages. The Kart made it easy to push on the trails and up and down hills. I really recommend this Kayak and couldn’t be happier!

Recon 120 HD

I ordered this kayak from across the country (VA to CO) because it was sold out everywhere else. I was pretty worried about it getting damaged during the freight process mainly due to its size and non-forkliftable nature. But to my surprise, PaddleVA did an outstanding job wrapping it up and protecting every inch of it. Unfortunately, I now have enough cardboard to build garage for my kayak... But it's totally worth it. The kayak itself seems to be an extremely well designed boat. Haven't had the chance to take it out yet, but I can already tell this thing is going to be very stable. Another thing I noticed as well is the fact that every square inch of the boat deck serves a useful purpose, and there is a LOT of real estate to work with. I'm looking forward to getting this thing out on the water and REALLY testing it.
